In '08 Green Is The New White

Green is the new white if you haven't heard by now.

Recently, in a color forecast for 2008, Blue Iris (see swatch below) is the new basis for the bridal color palette. Color forecasts are released each fall generally corresponding with
New York fashion week. Pantone, the company by which fashion designers, wedding planners, graphic designers and buyers
live by, generates the forecast.

Ah, but Blue Iris isn't the color brides are striving for this spring. Instead it's green. Since Al Gore, and everyone else on this elevated temperature sphere is doing it, that's right...we've jumped on the bandwagon. The organic, pesticide-free 100% post-consumer recycled waste bandwagon that is.

Brides and grooms are becoming more conscious of where dollars are going and where their products are coming from. Cheers...here are a few links to keep some green in your pocket, keep the planet happy by going green, and still make your friends green with envy. Enjoy!

Carolina Herrera has reinvigorated the gown with accent color. Her newest collection breathes life back into the trends we've seen on the runway for the past five years.

How to bring this elegant style to your wedding day? Look for detailing throughout the gown, instead of just at the bodice and the hem.
